welcome reissue for this super-rare space funk album from 1983, one of the holy grails of the cosmic scene. extremely expensive and hard-to-find in the original, this lp was created by legendary french producers jean-pierre massiera and bernard torelli (listed here as areisam and bernie) and released on french label savoir faire. it is a superb example of the duos innovative electronic disco madness, always pushing boundaries while remaining supremely funky. stand-out tracks are the italo classic >challenger< - heady synths, tough bass and astronaut vocals combine in a strange space odyssey, >cruisin<, a superb electro-boogie style cut with a hypnotic driving bassline, and the fantastic >on the border<, a tight funky percussive workout whipped by wild space-rock guitars. but as you would expect from the massiera/torelli trademark, all tracks are great and the lp a worthy addition to any self-respecting italo / cosmic collection.

after conforces tight album release on delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by gesloten cirkel for the title track). at first sight these tracks dont have much in common... and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. it will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. grain, be there at night, 24 and 24 remixed by gesloten cirkel. this is probably as versatile as a clone basement release can get.

nice price deal !!! vae victis is back for its 2nd release and is glad to welcome the very first debut of nightjars. with this 4 tracks ep the label shifts on a different musical path, sound and style wise. sound wise, both sides are written, mixed and produced on hardwares and polarized on a ferromagnetic tape. technically, side a (raw side) is mixed with a tough multitrack mixer brought to its saturation limit: the sound is indeed distorted, raw and unfriendly. while the flipside (clean side) is instead mixed with a big class a vintage studio mixer. the sound is brighter, richer of harmonics and the infrasounds are charged thru a wide dynamic range. style wise,the label shifts on a more broken beat field, lets call it bass, dubstep or whatever, but anyway something which should put this vinyl in the records bags of all the lovers of shed, peverelist and horsepower productions to name a few.

magic wire label head lone picks another smasher, aptly titled delirium tremens, from the elusive neon jung with a suitably precise re-edit from nathan fake on the b.side, fresh after his last remix for radiohead. delirium tremens takes on flavours of garage, soul and psychedelia and glues it all together with an armour plated, mutant electro backbone designed to make the dancefloor lose it for 4 minutes but still keeps the soul firmly intact. its another demonstration of neon jungs ability to take influences from many genres and join the dots to create something fresh, but with all the right reference points to make this accessible to everyone from your backpacking beat head to the hardcore club frequenters. the bass in the first drop of this track is just berserk theres no other word for it. the b side sees nathan fake up the tempo but draw it out, making this perfect for the more patient crowd. it has nathans signature beat all over it it rotates, swings and soars gloriously until it finally ends in a warm afterglow, complementing the original perfectly in its grower not a shower approach.

from rome to glasgow through bavarian lands, analytic trail to forward its last project. the young frankyeffe comes from the success of his releases on labels like: remain records of axel karakasis, naked lunch of a.paul and kombination research of mr. cisco ferreira a.k.a. the advent. riot is the name of this ep made by four tracks, including remixes by harvey mckay and alex bau. first remixer comes from scotland with his debut album, machine make noise and the amazing project nightwalker on soma records. with starting his own label toneman back in 2000 alex bau also started to his soloproductions for labels like chris liebings clr and sleaze records with a great remix by alan fitzpatrick. riot has a straight kick, an obstinate synth reverbered in background and a sereies of short hihats. the track is mostly characterized from continuous aggressive snares that making an hard groove and all is surrounded by a fat bassline, old school techno style.

in 1986 steve earles new brand of country-rock music was taking nashville by storm. his debut album >guitar town< topped the billboard country album charts, as did the single with the same title.
influenced by bruce springsteen (who was earles eureka!) and townes van zandt (after whom he named his firstborn), this was one of the strongest & most confident debut albums released in the 80s.
he showed an angry literacy, a dark sense of humour & a street-smart snarl that was uncommon amongst his country counterparts and made him stand out amongst the crowd. but he was also ostracised because of his anti-vietnam stance & long hair.
